You may not know what type of oil is presently in the box, or when it was last changed, so now’s your chance to check that off your list. The failed seal may have allowed dirt or water into the gearbox. Once you have it all buttoned up, it’s probably a good idea to dump and replace the transaxle oil, and take the opportunity to inspect your magnetic drain plug.
